On Wednesday, April 23rd, the College of St. Scholastica hired Sydney Brodt as the new head coach for the women’s ice hockey program. Brodt, a native of North Oaks, MN, comes to the Saints after spending last season playing in Sweden for Frölunda HC, who were the Swedish Women’s Hockey League (SDHL) playoff champions. This title follows her PWHL Walter Cup Championship with Minnesota in 2024. In her coaching career, Brodt spent three seasons as an assistant coach with Hamline, helping lead the Pipers to the #MIAC playoffs each season and one top-five conference finish. In her playing days, Brodt graduated from the University of Minnesota-Duluth in 2020 after a four-year playing career. She is one of only two players to serve as team captain for three seasons in program history. Brodt appeared in 141 games accumulating 98 points with 40 goals & 58 assists.
