Black people face a two-edged sword in the tech field: exclusion from leadership roles and exploitation in low-wage jobs. โš”๏ธ Black people hold only 4% of executive roles, locking us out of critical decisions that will affect our communities, but make up 25% of warehouse jobs, which are governed by dehumanizing AI systems that can fire workers or manipulate wages without human oversight. Technology should empower workers, not erase their dignity. We need: 1) Strong labor protections for gig workers ๐Ÿ”ง 2) Transparent AI systems in the workplace ๐Ÿค 3) Pathways to leadership for employees ๐Ÿ“ˆ 4) Corporate accountability for discriminatory practices โš–๏ธ This is why Color Of Change launched the #BlackTechAgenda, to advocate for dignity, equity, and power for Black workers in the tech-driven economy. If youโ€™re a gig worker, your story matters, and we want to hear it! Sharing your experience working for companies like Uber, DoorDash, and Instacart can help us advocate for solutions that matter...
