This #WorldImmunizationWeek we’re recognizing one of the most powerful tools in global health: vaccines. 💉 Since 1974, vaccines have saved over 154 million lives—that’s equal to 6 lives every minute, or 9 billion years of life saved around the world. But this progress is in jeopardy. In 2023, an estimated 14.5 million children missed out on basic lifesaving vaccines. And with funding cuts looming and increases in outbreaks of vaccine-preventable diseases like measles, meningitis and yellow fever, millions more are at risk. The world must continue investing in immunization to maintain this hard-won progress. With sustained commitment, a safer and healthier future is #HumanlyPossible.
