In many aspects of life—education, social interactions, and personal experiences—people with disabilities are often excluded and underrepresented. These awareness periods provide essential opportunities for people to learn about and engage with different realities, fostering understanding and inclusion. All too often, once the awareness period ends, the attention and efforts fade away, and people tend to forget the importance of ongoing support and representation. Representation should be strong and consistent. We must continue to use awareness periods to create inclusive spaces where everyone can share their experiences.
