To mark the anniversary of the Chornobyl tragedy 39 years ago today on 26th April 1986, Kateryna from the village of Myrove in the Dnipro region tells the story of her husband. ⁣ ⁣ At the age of 24, he was a 'liquidator' at the scene of the accident - removing radiated asphalt from the 30-kilometer zone, and paving new roads.⁣ ⁣ Just 19 days of work in the Chornobyl zone was enough to have major impacts on his health.⁣ ⁣ The village of Myrove, where Kateryna lives, is 28 kilometers away from a new nuclear threat - the Russian-occupied Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant.
