Russia’s Defense Ministry has released footage of DPRK soldiers undergoing combat training.
The announcement came as President Vladimir Putin thanked the DPRK military for what he called their “active role” in recapturing parts of Russia’s Kursk region.
On Sunday, DPRK leader Kim Jong-un confirmed he had sent troops to Russia’s border area under the countries' new defense pact.
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said Moscow would also provide military assistance to Pyongyang “if necessary.”
Until now, both Moscow and Pyongyang had denied that DPRK forces were fighting alongside Russian troops.
