Congratulations Coach Eric Thorton, this year’s recipient of The Nancy Rehm Award. In 29 seasons at Norwell Coach Thorton has a 71% win percentage. In the 2023-2024 season Coach Thorton led his team to the State Finals. In 2024-2025 Coach Thorton’s Norwell team won the State Championship beating Greensburg High School 55-44. Coach Thorton has not only had a tremendous impact on Norwell athletics, he has also had a tremendous impact on his athletes and community. Current USF Women’s basketball member and a member of the Norwell 2023-2024 state runner up team said, “Coach Thorton has been one of the most influential coaches I have had in my basketball career. He instills confidence and a winning belief in his players from a very early age. Coach Thorton has built a culture at Norwell High School where girls dream of playing basketball at the highschool level and beyond.
