@urban decay’s new liquid eyeshadows use the same gesture as their liquid lipsticks—you have to shake the bottle before applying. They even included that little mixing ball inside, just like their lip products. Which you can hear when you shake her! That ball helps re-homogenize the formula, keeping the pigments and liquids evenly blended for the smoothest application. Because the formula is a hybrid (more pigmented than a serum shadow but lighter than a cream), it needs that quick shake to bring everything back together. This is where my brain immediately goes as a product developer when I see something like this! I love seeing the intention they put into both the packaging and the dosing system—it’s really neat to put those puzzle pieces together in my mind.
