Why Aggies? That’s an easy answer — selfless service. It is at the core of who we are at Texas A&M University, transcending time, place and generation.
In a remarkable display of Aggie spirit, students from the BUILD organization — alongside the Texas A&M College of Medicine’s Rural Medicine Outreach and the Texas A&M Telehealth Institute — transformed a 40-foot shipping container into a fully functioning Texas Aggie Medical Clinic (TAMC) for Sarita, Texas. Before this clinic, Kenedy County had zero medical facilities and no access to health care. Residents often had to travel hours to receive basic medical services.
Now, for the first time, community members can access critical care close to home. Centrally located across from the local school, this clinic represents more than a physical structure — it symbolizes hope, healing and a future built on service.
