In honor of National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day, White Sox Volunteer Corps members created 250 enrichment toys out of recycled jerseys and t-shirts for the adoptable pets at PAWS Chicago! White Sox pitcher Mike Vasil helped drop off the toys and shared the news that our friends at Tito’s Handmade Vodka matched $10 for every toy that was made for a total donation of $2,500 to PAWS! Tito’s Handmade Vodka is the official sponsor of Dog Day at Rate Field. PAWS Chicago is one of the largest comprehensive No Kill animal welfare organizations in the nation, building programs to end the killing of homeless pets. More than 24,000 homeless and at-risk cats and dogs pass through PAWS Chicago’s Medical Center each year.
