A new Chinese study has revealed that drinking champagne, eating more fruit, staying slim and maintaining a positive outlook could reduce risk of sudden cardiac arrest (SCA).
The study has found 56 non-clinical risk factors associated with SCA, which include lifestyle, physical measures, psychosocial factors, socioeconomic status and the local environment. It found evidence that addressing these things could prevent a large number of cases.
Lead investigator Dr Huihuan Luo of Shanghai’s Fudan University said: ‘The study found significant associations between various modifiable factors and sudden cardiac arrest, with lifestyle changes being the most impactful in preventing cases.’
