Screenplay has been on prominent display in the Ottawa/Toronto series. While it is paramount to battle to see the puck, there are times where goalies can be overactive in the desire to compete for position and sight. The Ottawa defenders actually play this very well, as they take away the far side post shooting lane. Ullmark seemingly has a good sight line on the shot, which is a left-handed shot decidedly from the left wing. As soon as Austin Matthews sees him shift back into the screen, it’s an easy read for the prolific goal scorer. It is important that screenplay is mixed into every training session, even in its most basic form. The hardest thing to do is to maintain composure and realize once you have a sight line, just stay patient and get your read.
