Why I train with the ball 🎯
Why do I use it?
I gently place the ball between my forearms to keep them connected during the swing. This helps me maintain a consistent arm structure and frees up my focus for other key swing elements.
What do I want to improve?
I’m working on my takeaway and backswing – specifically making sure my arms stay close to my body instead of drifting away. My goal is for the torso rotation to control how far I swing back, not the arms swinging independently.
What’s my key checkpoint?
At the 9 o’clock position (hands at hip height in the backswing), I want the clubface to stay neutral relative to my spine angle. Thanks to the ball, I don’t have to constantly check my arms – they stay stable on their own.
What about the downswing?
During the transition, I want my arms to stay in front of my body instead of separating. The ball is a great feedback tool for this – if I lose connection, it literally drops out. No cheating 😅
