Boston Marathon Race Recap, Part 3:
I felt comfort standing on the start line, but the nerves started bubbling up more and more.
I always liken it to the feeling you get when cresting the top of a rollercoaster🎢 :
đź’Omg I’m so excited!
Wait, no, just kidding. I’m not ready.
This is actually kind of scary.
Ah crap, you think I can bail now?
What do you mean it’s too late?
Hold on, I signed up for this?đź’
To combat this anxious energy, I have to release it somehow. Whether it be chatting with others, laughing about something funny (whether in the moment or a memory), or in this case dancing(?)
Sometimes you just have to shake it out 🤷‍♀️
After standing (shaking it) there for what felt like an eternity, the pistol finally shot.
Just like that initial drop of a rollercoaster, once the gun goes off, there is a sense of weightlessness.
You are no longer at the mercy of anticipation.
Freedom surges through every vein, and exhilaration takes over.
