Saturday is #WorldPressFreedomDay. Attacks on journalists are attacks on the fundamental right to freedom of expression. “Journalists everywhere must be able to report freely and without fear or favour. When journalists are unable to work, we all lose,” said #UnitedNations Secretary-General antonioguterres. "Freedom for people depends on freedom of the press. Free and independent journalism is an essential public good." unesco works to address threats to freedom of press, including violence against journalists, legal harassment, misinformation and censorship. 📸: UNESCO
