Another important piece for the Artemis II stack! On April 30, 2025, teams with NASA’s Exploration Ground Systems began integrating another key piece of the SLS (Space Launch System) rocket for the Artemis II mission at NASAKennedy Space Center in Florida. This is the interim cryogenic propulsion stage, or the ICPS, for the Artemis II mission. The four-story propulsion system, built by Boeing and ULALaunch, is powered by an RL10 engine that will enable the Orion spacecraft to build up enough speed to enter a high-Earth orbit before Orion’s service module provides the last push toward the Moon.
