French racing hero René Dreyfus was born On This Day 120 years ago. 🇫🇷 In a career peppered with remarkable performances, Dreyfus could chalk two of his greatest victories up to grit and wisdom... As a privateer, he beat home hero Louis Chiron at the 1930 Monaco Grand Prix with a secondary fuel tank that eliminated the need to stop, despite bloodied hands and filthy goggles. At the 1938 Pau Grand Prix, Dreyfus again did not pit in his Ecurie Bleue Delahaye to virtually cruise to victory against Caracciola and Lang's shared Mercedes W154, overpowered and too thirsty for the slippery streets.
