Christian Blakely (left) and Saidy Burch (right) both embody the interdisciplinary nature of CAS, they weaved in excellence in STEM fields and English over their undergraduate careers.
Christian is graduating with a degree in microbiology and immunology with minors in public health, chemistry and English. Next up she is headed to Houston as she pursues a clinical path in cytogenetics! Christian was very engaged during her time at UM and worked at the front desk of the Dean's Office (we all say hi and congratulations!)
Saidy is earning a dual degree in mathematics and English with concentrations in statistics and creative writing, along with a minor in Japanese. If you saw the Undergraduate Art Exhibit in the Ashe 140 hallway last year, you probably saw her wonderful mangoes painting (one of our favorites). Saidy was heavily involved in community-focused groups here on campus and plays bass in the band Ex Monarch. Next for Saidy is staying at UM and working as a lab manager and resear...
