China has its first male snooker world champion!⁣ ⁣ Zhao Xintong overcame a nail-biting finish to beat Mark Williams 18-12 and win the World Snooker Championship at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield.⁣ ⁣ The 28-year-old became the first amateur to secure the world title, having come through four qualifying rounds to even make the tournament. Ding Junhui lost in the 2016 final.⁣ ⁣ "I can't believe what I've done. It's very exciting," said Zhao. "I was so nervous. It's a very special moment for me, for Chinese snooker, for everyone."⁣ ⁣ It’s a double for Chinese snooker after Bai Yulu became the female world champion last year.⁣ ⁣ #worldsnookertour #snooker #zhaoxintong #china⁣ ⁣ 📷Andrew Boyers/Reuters
