Meet cityofhopeoc nurse Shelby Hardy, B.S.N., R.N.! Two years ago, she started her nursing journey through cityofhope's Alan & Marlene Norton Nurse Residency Program and never looked back. Inspired by her mom’s kindness, curiosity and compassion, Shelby wanted to pursue a career that allowed her to care for people every day. In her current role, Shelby is fulfilling that dream every day as our patients’ biggest encourager and advocate – titles she feels honored to hold. Her advice for the next generation of nurses? “Always ask questions and be eager to learn. Being a new nurse can be scary, and at times you can question if you are really cut out for this career. Push through those times and remember why you wanted to be a nurse in the first place and hold on to that.
