The Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) joined the national observance of Read Across Jamaica Day with a creative spin—taking story time on the road. In a collaborative initiative with the Jamaica Constabulary Force, students from Crescent Primary, Yallahs Primary, and Eltham Primary were treated to a special reading experience aboard a JUTC bus. The event formed part of JUTC’s Ride Right with SmartFare campaign—specifically its Stand In Line and We Care programmes, which promote road safety and public transportation etiquette among Jamaican youth. During the mobile reading sessions, students not only listened to engaging stories but also enjoyed a scenic ride through their communities, merging literacy with public safety in an interactive and memorable way.
