🌸 Good Cheer extended her perfect record with a 2 1/4-length victory in the Kentucky Oaks (G1) Friday, May 2. Trained by Brad Cox and ridden by Luis Saez, the Medaglia d’Oro filly showed class from the walkover to the winner’s circle. Medaglia d’Oro has now sired three Kentucky Oaks winners, including Rachel Alexandra in 2009 and Plum Pretty in 2011. “It would be nice to think Good Cheer could step in the shoes of a Rachel Alexandra or something like that. That’d be great. He’s a tremendous stallion,” said Godolphin USA director of bloodstock Michael Banahan. The win marks Godolphin’s second Kentucky Oaks triumph following Pretty Mischievous in 2023.
