Meet Iris You — a Rutgers–New Brunswick junior and newly named Goldwater Scholar! From day one on campus, Iris dove into materials science research — from polymer coatings to aerospace materials — and even landed a competitive role at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab. Iris is also a leader in Rutgers Engineering, Chem-E-Car production lead, and a competitive badminton player. Now, she’s heading to Cornell this summer to keep pushing the boundaries of computational materials science. Her passion for science, curiosity, and drive just earned her one of the most prestigious undergraduate research honors in the country — and she’s only getting started.
