I wanted to honour his resilience, determination, and passion through this drawing. The piece depicts Gabe standing on the ice before the game, his expression unmistakably focused. Below him, the ice shines under the spotlight, showcasing its reflective surface. I wanted to incorporate two significant elements from the game caught my attention: the 'Welcome Back Cap' banner, slightly faded and darkened, and the ticker which I slightly dimmed, both rounding out this historic moment.
