🎷 Last night, our friends at the Chazen Museum of Art in Madison, WI, held a celebration for “Nordic Utopia? African Americans in the 20th Century!” Guests enjoyed remarks from co-curators Ethelene Whitmire (UW–Madison) and our own Chief Curator, Leslie Anne Anderson, plus a live performance by the Dexter Gordon Tribute Band. ✨ 🎵 Originally organized by the National Nordic Museum and on view in Seattle earlier this year, “Nordic Utopia?” reveals the untold stories of African-American artists who found inspiration and opportunity in the Nordic countries. 📷 Leslie Anderson
