🍬It’s #InternationalLicoriceDay! Did you know that the Nordic countries together consume 80-90% of the world’s production of licorice? Licorice, or “lakrits” as it’s known in Swedish, has been enjoyed in the Nordic region for centuries. Introduced in the 17th century when it was brought over from Holland, it was initially used for medicinal properties. However, over time, licorice became more widely consumed as a candy. It’s found in various forms, with salty licorice particularly popular in Finland and parts of Sweden! Make sure to stop by the @nordicmuseumstore today, where we’re participating in the world’s biggest licorice tasting with @lakridsbybulow!
