Today is Sámi National Day! On this day in 1917, the first Sámi congress was held in 1917 in Trondheim, Norway. Today, the occasion is celebrated by Sámi people throughout the world. This weekend, we hope you'll join us as we come together in Seattle to recognize the heritage, culture, and social achievements of the Sámi people at our 6th Annual Sámi Film Festival! Guest curator and Stockholm-based Sámi multimedia artist/director Liselotte Wajstedt will be onsite at Majestic Bay Theatres (Ballard) on Saturday, 2/10 for the second day of the festival, and will join Pacific Sami Searvi's Amy Swanson King in conversation.
