#MeetTheArtists behind “Arctic Highways: 12 Indigenous Artists of the Circumpolar North,” now on view at the National Nordic Museum! Sonya Kelliher-Combs (Iñupiaq/Athabascan) was born in 1969 in Bethel, Alaska and brought up in Nome. Through visual art, community engagement, curation, and advocacy, she works to create opportunity and feature Indigenous voices as well as the work of contemporary artists who through their work inform and encourage social action.
