We don't want to alarm anyone but...it's official: the Fjord horses are BACK! If you've attended the Ballard 17th of May parade in the past, no doubt you'll be familiar with the stately strutting and voluminous manes of these Norwegian beauties. Believed to have been used by the Vikings as war mounts, the Fjord horse is one of the oldest breeds on Earth.
Plan on making the Museum one of your Syttende Mai stops, where the Fjord horses will be giving “Nordic Express” mini train rides in the parking lot before they trot through the streets of Ballard!
