Happy National Dog Day! 🐶 In honor of this special day, we here at the Museum partnered with Everett, a 12 year-old Golden Retriever, to give his expert take and experience on the Museum. Through his 12 years of walking through the Ballard Locks with his human Jinyi Bishop, he’s witnessed a lot of changes, including the start and completion of the construction of the Museum building. Although not allowed to run in the building, he's a big fan of the open architectural space, the friendly people that pet him, the occasional snacks, and the paws-itive atmosphere. Recently Everett joined in to welcome our newest addition, Danish artist Thomas Dambo's "Nordic Swan" (2015), made from 300 recycled plastic buckets to symbolize Denmark's commitment to recycling and sustainability. He enjoyed the piece and the message behind the Swan despite not being allowed to chase it.
