The city of Columbia is not on track to reach its CAAP sustainability goals set in 2019. James Owen, executive director of Renew Missouri, said that the city of Columbia should advocate for more renewable sources.
“I personally just think it’s setting the city of Columbia up to fail. I think the goal of the City of Columbia should be that we are trying to get as much renewable energy into our mix of what our customers are using, and doing that in a way that is going to be cost-effective and efficient,” Owen said.
