May is National Bicycle Safety Month. Here are tips to keep you safe!
For bicyclists:
1. Safety in numbers! š² š² š² š² Studies show that drivers are MORE careful when they see more cyclists on the road. If you can, ride in a group.
2. Protect your noggin! When riding a bicycle, always wear a helmet.
For vehicles:
1. If you see a cyclist, slow down! Bicyclists are most often killed by drivers who strike them with the front of their vehicles at high speeds. Avoid tragedy by:
š Slowing down
š Buckling up
š Driving sober
š Not driving distracted
2. Make room! When you pass a bicycle, give them three or more feet of space.
