Last month, uofu_science and uofu_chemistry unveiled a statue honoring Henry Eyring, a renowned #UofU chemistry professor and our first dean of uofugradschool. Eyring also developed the absolute rate theory, known as the Eyring equation, and is known for his seminal research on the theory of liquids, optical rotation, rate processes in biology and medicine, aging and cancer, and anesthesiology. He was presented with the National Medal of Science in 1966 by Lyndon B. Johnson and received the Wolf Prize in Chemistry in 1980.
