Introducing the 2025 All Campus Commencement speaker: Mark Allen ’80 (markallengrip) — six-time IRONMAN world champion, UC San Diego alum, and triathlon legend. 🚴‍♂️ 🏊‍♂️ Mark’s journey began in Central California and led him to UC San Diego, where he was an All-American swimmer and standout member of the men’s swim team (ucsdswimming). He graduated in 1980 with a degree in biology, then went on to build one of the most celebrated careers in endurance sports history. After six attempts, Mark won his first IRONMAN World Championship in Kona in 1989 — and went on to win five more.
