Sharp lines. Long nose. Pure presence.
Few cars wear the nickname “Shark” as well as the BMW 635CSi. With its low-slung, forward-leaning nose and signature shark-nose grille, the E24 coupe was a bold statement in the late ’70s and throughout the ’80s.
Powered by a silky smooth inline-six and paired with rear-wheel drive, the 635CSi was built for high-speed grand touring—comfortable, yet razor sharp when pushed. Inside, it carried that classic BMW driver-focused cockpit with analog gauges and deep leather seats that wrapped around you like a glove.
It was also one of the first BMWs to feature onboard computer diagnostics, and its silhouette helped define a design language that still echoes through modern M cars today. From Autobahn cruising to weekend driving, the Shark always had bite.
