🕊️ Habemus papam! Join us in prayer as we celebrate the election of His Holiness, Pope Leo XIV. Born Robert Francis Prevost, Pope Leo XIV’s election is a historic moment for the Church — he is the first Pope from the United States and the first Augustinian friar to have been elected pontiff. Though American by birth, Pope Leo XIV also holds Peruvian citizenship and spent much of his ministry in Peru, serving the poor and most vulnerable with humility and compassion. As we welcome this new chapter for the Church, let us hold Pope Leo XIV in our prayers and reflect on these words from his first homily as Pope: "Even today, there are many settings in which the Christian faith is considered absurd, meant for the weak and unintelligent. Settings where other securities are preferred, like technology, money, success, power, or pleasure.
