A preschool security guard in Southwest Portland shot and injured a man around 11:50 a.m. Thursday, police said. No children were harmed. The man was taken to a hospital with serious injuries, and the guard was cooperating with officers, police said. Police said the shooting happened in a parking lot between the Fanno Creek Medical Clinic and The Gan preschool in the 6600 block of Southwest Capitol Highway. The Gan is a Jewish preschool on the campus of the Chabad Lubavitch of Oregon, but police said they had no indication that religious bias factored into the shooting.
