I made this video months ago and at the time I was too nervous to post it. At the time, my life felt so overwhelming and mentally I was the lowest I’d ever been. Getting out of bed each morning felt like the hardest chore and I remember thinking over and over “this isn’t you, this isn’t you, this isn’t you”. A trip to the Gulf for some much needed time off to unload the pressures I put on myself in trying to keep up with societal expectations was exactly what I needed. It’s easy to get trapped on the hamster wheel and really hard (and not to mention impossible) to be everything all at once. But I know where my rest comes from, I know where my joy and strength come from.
