The Discovery Tour to the Netherlands was a journey filled with culture, tradition, and hands-on experiences! Eleven students began their adventure in the charming coastal town of Volendam in North Holland, where they got to taste classic local cheeses like gouda and edam, many of them infused with other flavors. They ended the day with a group dinner on the harbor with Dutch favorites like kibbeling and satay before traveling to Almere for an overnight stay. The next morning, the group visited the historic and quaint Marken Island, where they explored the area with a walking tour led by a local wearing traditional clothing. She said it takes her 30 minutes to get dressed when she wears this outfit! The trip concluded with a clog-making demonstration, where they could see the craftsmanship firsthand and even try on authentic wooden shoes! They are more comfortable than you think. What a unique opportunity for this group.
