Brandi Mitchell is one of the greatest soccer connectors for recreational women players in the country. Working under the cause “San Diego Soccer Women,” she’s become a go-to resource in southern California and beyond—helping organize teams, fill tournaments, and manage playing schedules. Her work spans way past a single league or one annual event, coordinating opportunities to play for thousands of women for over a decade, and advocating for women’s recreational soccer for ages 30 all the way through 80 and older.
“I realized that if it was that hard for me to find out about this world, and I was already going to games, then all these other women may have the same situation. And if they didn’t have a friend prompting them saying, ‘Hey, there’s women’s recreational soccer here,’ then maybe they don’t know about it.”
