Last Friday, SAS eighth graders shared their insights and research with parents, faculty and fellow students at the the tenth annual SAS Middle School Project Citizen Civics Fair. Boasting over 75 civic projects, the fair celebrated the wide-range of subjects and issues.
"Our eighth graders have been working hard over the last four months to become experts on an issue within the greater Austin community or beyond. The project was designed to encourage civic participation, allow kids to explore topics they are passionate about, and use their problem-solving skills to try to address their issue," said Head of Middle School, Tim Moore. "Ultimately, we want to empower our students to realize that their voice and their actions matter and can make a difference, regardless of their age."
