Last night, one of our sergeants was conducting proactive patrol checks near closed businesses on the 19000 block of Golden Valley Road. He observed a white Ford Transit van with out-of-state license plates idling in front of a closed store. 🧐 Due to recent burglaries in the area, the sergeant attempted to contact the driver. When the sergeant approached the vehicle, he observed the driver was exhibiting signs of being under the influence. Field sobriety tests were administered, which the driver failed to successfully complete. Further field investigation revealed the 36-year-old suspect from Tennessee had a metal knuckle knife and multiple loaded firearms, including a rifle. The man was arrested on multiple misdemeanor and felony weapons and DUI charges. The suspect was transported to the SCV Sheriff's Station jail and remains in custody at this time... and most importantly, he was caught before any additional crimes could be committed, or businesses victimized! #WhileYouWereSleepi...
