Despite an increased demand for its services, the Alameda County Community Food Bank, or ACCFB, which partners with campus’ Center for Basic Needs and the Berkeley Food Network, or BFN, has reported that some recent food shipments from the United States Department of Agriculture, or USDA, have been canceled. The Center for Basic Needs receives more than 40% of its total food from ACCFB and BFN, 36.21% and 6.20% respectively, according to Basic Needs Center Food Resource Coordinator Natalia Semeraro.
