Bayer Leverkusen star Frimpong, who has a £29.5m release clause, is one of the options to replace Real Madrid-bound Trent Alexander-Arnold at Anfield. While Liverpool have held talks with Frimpong’s representatives, they are yet to formally approach Leverkusen as they mull over whether to sign a direct replacement or put their faith in Conor Bradley. The Reds are expected to be busy in the summer transfer window in a bid to build on their Premier League title win.
