In September, officials announced a $20 million grant from the federal government would help complete the Alton Park connector, a trail to link some of Chattanooga's most disconnected communities. The money, from the Environmental Protection Agency, came after nearly a decade of work and would have funded a section of the path from the Borough 33 apartments on West 33rd Street to Clifton Hills Elementary School. In February, the first wave of federal funding freezes from the second administration of President Donald Trump began, putting a tentative pause on the project. Read more at the link in our bio.
