Chattanooga has become the first National Park City in North America, the city announced Thursday morning. The announcement comes after a team from the National Park City Foundation visited the city this past month as part of a peer review process. The foundation is a London-based organization that supports other cities worldwide in becoming a National Park City — a city that is "acting together to make life better for people, places and nature," according to the foundation's website.
