Photography had in fact gone into hibernation for nearly a decade till the availability of film and refurbished old film SLRs and TLRs pushed me to resurrect it a few months ago. I photograph scenes close to where I live and work. Living in a crowded city such as Bangalore may offer a lot of opportunities for street photography, but my personality does not allow me to capture people going about doing their everyday things on film (or a sensor for that matter). I spend time in dwindling green spaces and look for flora and their remains that appeal to me. Most of the photos in this series represent a very hot and dry February here in Bangalore, characterised by dry, fallen leaves, ash left after they are burnt, and the green shoots and mature foliage and human settlements that offer contrast.
