China on Tuesday unveiled an emblem commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance against Japanese aggression and the global war against fascism. ⁣ ⁣ The emblem combines symbolic elements of the Great Wall, olive branches and the years ‘1945-2025’.⁣ ⁣ China fought for 14 years against the Japanese aggression that continued through World War II, starting from September 18, 1931 when Japan invaded northeast China’s Shenyang, and later occupied northeast China by establishing the ‘Manchukuo’ puppet regime. ⁣ ⁣ The war lasted until Japan’s surrender on August 15, 1945. ⁣ ⁣ China suffered at least 14 million deaths, included in a total of 35 million Chinese casualties. ⁣ ⁣ Around 1.5 million Japanese troops were killed, seriously injured or captured, accounting for 70% of total Japanese casualties. ⁣ ⁣ Before the Pacific War in 1941, China fought against the Japanese troops alone, and tied down as many as 94% of the Japanese army. ⁣ ⁣ #WWII #Chi...
