Last week, 4th and 5th grade students of the new elective Wilderness Explorers got to take a phenomenal excursion hiking at Red Rocks Park. Besides getting in a 2 mile hike on a gorgeous day, students revisited class learning on weathering, erosion, rock formations, and the layers we see so visible in our own backyard. DJDS is excited to offer new outdoor learning via wilderness programs to the Lower Division, after seeing success with its high school program Wilderness Trailblazers.
