Thinking about going keto as a football player? ⬇️ Don’t make that mistake. As a lineman, you need power, explosiveness, and quick recovery (keto won’t give you any of that). I played 12 NFL seasons on the line, and here’s what I learned: Football is a game powered by carbs. Without them, your glycogen tanks, your lifts drop, and your explosiveness disappears. Your recovery slows down, your muscles struggle, and your brain gets foggy when you need quick decisions. Keto even makes staying hydrated tough, leading to cramps and risking injury. Want to be lean, strong, and explosive instead? Eat carbs like rice, oats, fruit, and potatoes around your lifts and games. Get a gram of protein per pound of bodyweight daily, and add healthy fats from avocado, olive oil, and nuts. That’s how I dominated trenches for 12 years in the league.
